Paradigm is a single-player point-and-click adventure video game independently developed and published by Jacob Janerka, officially launched on Steam on April 5, 2017, supporting Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X systems.
Set in Krusz, a bizarre, post-apocalyptic Eastern European country, the game features a surreal and whimsical storyline with unique dark humor. Players take on the role of Paradigm, a uniquely deformed mutant with an unfortunate and tragic past.
Paradigm’s story originates from DUPA Genetics, a corporation that cultivates and sells talented genetically modified children to wealthy and influential elites who refuse to inherit their assets to their ordinary biological offspring. A severe error occurred during Paradigm’s genetic cultivation process, resulting in his terrifying mutation. To preserve its corporate reputation, DUPA Genetics abandoned the infant Paradigm in a desolate post-Neo-Soviet abandoned town, leaving him to survive on his own from an early age.
Despite his miserable childhood experience, Paradigm never succumbed to despair. He found spiritual solace in music and harbored a sincere dream of becoming the world’s most outstanding electronic music artist. However, his troubled past unexpectedly resurfaces to disrupt his peaceful life. Forced into action, he has to take on the responsibility of saving the world reluctantly, even though all he truly desires is to complete his latest music EP.
Throughout his adventure, Paradigm encounters a cast of bizarre and distinctive characters, including a psychopathic superhero, a malicious genetically modified sloth, a knight secretary, and a pug leading a glam metal cult, bringing endless unexpected and funny plot twists to the journey.
